Career Developers, Inc. was created in 1994 by Joseph Destro on the idea that as recruitment professionals, our strength and value lie in our ability to focus and guide the hiring process in order to aid our clients in identifying the best possible candidates to fulfill their hiring needs. The idea was to make ourselves an extension of the human resource function and therefore a partner to the hiring authorities. Throughout the past 19 years, Career Developers has done just that. We have found success through a variety of methods including the building of a searchable, networked database, establishment of an internet presence through advertising and passive internet recruitment, and most importantly, referrals from past candidates and clients. We are a small agency that prides itself on building partnerships with our clients. We are able to do this by providing personal attention to the clients we serve as well as the candidates we recruit. When Career Developers, Inc. opened, our business was focused on the placement of permanent professionals in the technology marketplace. This area of the company is now known as Career Developers Technology Group (CDTG) . Over the past 19 years we have grown and diversified significantly. In 1999, we added Career Developers Solutions, Inc. (CDSI), in order to satisfy the growing consulting needs of our clients. Today, in addition to consulting services in the technology arena, CDSI also provides recruitment services for various financial and accounting positions. Most recently, as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets continue to explode, Career Developers Life Sciences, LLC (CDLS) was established. Joe is the President and owner of Career Developers, Inc., established in 1994. In the search and placement industry since 1988, Joe has always focused on Information Technology recruitment. For the past 20 years, through the design and building of a customized database as well as the establishment of a strong web presence, Joe has been able to build relationships with some of the largest and most exciting employers in the NJ/NY/PA area assisting them in identifying top-tier IT professionals. From 1994-2000, Joe successfully increased billings 35% per year. While many agencies have closed their doors, Joe has survived through 3 recessions and has been able to keep the business focused and profitable. Joe is not only responsible for the strategic planning and management of the different businesses, he actively participates in account management and candidate recruitment. Throughout the years, Joe expanded Career Developers, Inc., to include an IT consulting practice, a Scientific/Life Sciences business and a Financial/Accounting area. As of December 2013, Joe has placed 662 candidates at various NJ/NY employers.

Melissa has been with us for almost a year and has been a great asset to our technology team. She is a great listener, strong networker, and has a passion for recruiting. She comes to us with a BS Degree in Finance form Ramapo College. Rob has almost 2 years' experience working as a sourcer then then a Technology recruiter from Robert Half Technology. Before working with RHT, he was managing the Marketing and Media development for Bergen County's first AAA Minor League Fooball franchise, the Bergen Hawks (2009, BNEFF Champions/Ranked 15th in the US). Rob played Quarterback locally in High School, College, Minor League and had several professional tryouts. He attended college at Kean University, studying Marketing and Criminal Justice. He has adapted well to our boutique type approach and is having fun.

Joyce has over 13 years of experience in the executive recruitment industry. She has been with Career Developers, Inc. since 1997, initially specializing in the recruitment and placement of Information Technology professionals. In January 2005, she headed the start up the Pharmaceutical practice. Over the past few years, she has built a division focused on supplying top-tier talent to some of the fastest growing pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies in the NJ/NY area. Prior to her recruitment career, Joyce spent five years in sales management and store operations for a women’s specialty retailer. She holds a BS Degree from the University of Rhode Island. Joyce resides in Ridgewood with her husband and their twin boys.

Tony is a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) that has been in the executive recruitment industry for over 19 years. He has experience in both recruitment and account management. Beginning his career as a technical recruiter, Tony held recruiting manager and account manager positions in mid to large size technology placement firms. Upon joining Career Developers Inc. in 2000, Tony was responsible for establishing and building a consulting practice, Career Developers Solutions, Inc. (CDSI), which assists clients in the tri-state area in fulfilling their project needs. He was also responsible for establishing Career Developer’s financial recruiting practice, Career Developers Accounting and Finance (CDAF), which provides mid to senior level financial professionals to clients within the New Jersey/New York area. Over the course of his career, Tony has built and maintained strong relationships with internal vendors and hiring managers and provides the resources to assist his clients in achieving both their staffing and project needs.

Laura has over five years of experience in the executive recruitment industry. She has been with Career Developers, Inc. since 2000, specializing in the recruitment and placement of Information Technology professionals. Prior to her career in recruitment, she helped support the Career Developers team with all of their administrative functions. She has also spent over 10 years in sales/store operations/management for specialty retailers in New York City and New Jersey. Laura handles both account management and candidate recruitment for technology permanent employment.

Kristen has been with us since 2010. She does everything possible to help out the recruiters and runs the administrative tasks for our consulting division. She is responsible for Accounts Payable, Receivable, Payroll, job order maintenance, advertising, social networking and much more.
